How to copy your Artstor groups to your JSTOR Workspace
Watch a video demonstration
There are two workflows you can use to access the Copy Artstor Groups tool:
-
Logging in to your personal JSTOR account and following the prompt in your Workspace (Click the word "here" in the blue banner to access the tool)
- Using the Copy Artstor Groups tool directly, which can be found here
Once you have arrived to the page that reads "Copy your Artstor image groups into JSTOR" click the “Get Started” button. You will be directed to a new page where you can select the groups you want to copy.
After selecting the groups you want to copy, click the “Copy selected groups” button. You will be redirected to your Workspace, where you will see a banner displaying the copying progress. Once the folders have successfully copied, the page will refresh and you will see your new Workspace folders. You will also receive a notification by email when the copying is complete.
If a group you copy contains material not yet available on JSTOR, you will see a banner in that folder noting some content could not be copied. When the missing content is published to JSTOR, it will automatically appear in your Workspace folder.
Managing your Workspace folders
When you copy your Artstor groups, they will appear in your Workspace as folders. These folders are copies, meaning that if you edit them on JSTOR, the change will not reflect in your Artstor groups and vice versa.
You can also copy the same Artstor group to JSTOR multiple times. Any additional copies of the same group will have the date copied added to its name.
Editing and Organizing your copied groups on JSTOR
There are several ways to view and organize your saved items in Workspace. You can create new folders, subfolders within existing folders, add notes to specific items, and customize how the items are ordered. For more information, see Workspace: Viewing and Organizing your Research.
Exporting, Sharing and Presenting your copied groups on JSTOR
To present images in your Workspace folders, click the “Present” button within the folder. You can then use the comma and period keys, or the white carrots in the bottom left, to toggle between images. You can zoom in on images using three ways:
- Use the toolbar in the upper right corner
- Press the Ctrl key and + or -
- Engage the scrolling feature on your machine's mouse or track-pad while hovering over the image
For more information, see: Workspace: Presenting Research.
Workspace folders can be exported to Powerpoint or as a PDF. For more information, see: Workspace: Exporting Research Materials.
