JSTOR partners with Discovery Service providers such as such as Clarivate Discovery Resources to ensure that content is findable and relevant. For libraries and institutions that use Clarivate Discovery Resources' Primo or Summon, the following resources are available to make the most of your access.
Activating JSTOR Archival Journal & Primary Sources Collection
In order to activate or configure this collection, please search for the collection name JSTOR Archival Journal and Primary Source Collection (E-Collection ID: 615470000000000437) and select it in Alma.
Please note that at this time, the JSTOR Primary Source collections (this includes 19th Century British Pamphlets, Struggles for Freedom: Southern Africa, World Heritage Sites: Africa, and Global Plants) are not currently available in Alma for libraries to activate. In addition, the JSTOR Archival Journal and Primary Source Collection does not contain research reports from the following collections: Public Health, Security Studies, or Sustainability.
Activating JSTOR Shared Collections
In order to activate JSTOR Shared Collections, please search for and activate JSTOR Shared Collections in your discovery service admin.
If you're unable to locate this collection or have additional questions about configuring Summon or Primo, please visit Clarivate's Support Center for additional documentation and assistance.
Activating Artstor on JSTOR collections
The Artstor website was retired on August 1, 2024. If you previously enabled Artstor in your discovery service, the Artstor on JSTOR licensed collections have been activated for you and no further action is required.
If you haven't previously enabled Artstor on JSTOR collections in your discovery service, please search for and activate:
- For licensed collections:
- Artstor on JSTOR (For US-based institutions)
- OR Artstor on JSTOR (For institutions outside of the US)
- For open collections: Artstor Open Access on JSTOR

Configuring Primo CDI Discovery for JSTOR
Clarivate has created the following quick guide to help libraries configure their Primo discovery service for JSTOR. This is done through Primo's Central Discovery Index (CDI) if your library uses either Alma or SFX.

Configuring electronic holdings in Alma
In Alma, you can automatically update your Books at JSTOR holdings (including Open Access books) using an integration profile. We call this automatic holdings or autoholdings.
In order to activate or configure automatic holdings, please search for the collection name JSTOR AUTOHOLDINGS BOOKS (E-Collection ID: 615400000000000569) and select it in Alma. You'll need your Institutional Token ID to configure the integration profile.
To obtain your Institutional Token ID:
- Log into JSTOR Admin with a personal account that has administrative permissions.
- Not an admin yet? See Accessing JSTOR Admin to get started.
- Select Alma Linking in the JSTOR Admin sidebar.
- Select the Copy button following the alphanumeric ID on this page.
- Paste this into the Institutional Token ID field in your integration profile in Alma.
