Save items and citations
With JSTOR Workspace, you can save your items and citations so that next time you log in, you can pick up where you left off.
To start saving content you find on JSTOR:
- Create a personal account or sign in to your existing personal account.
- Search for content on JSTOR, and choose the Save button save it to your Workspace.
- Visit your Workspace to organize your saved items.

Connect to content through your institution
With a personal account, you can:
- Access your institution's content, even when you're not on campus.
- Ensure that you're finding and saving material that your institution provides access to.
- Quickly sign in to JSTOR directly from the JSTOR site no matter where you're doing your research.
To pair your personal account to your institution's account:
- First, make sure you log into your school's account first. You can log in automatically on campus or connect to your institution via Proxy, Shibboleth, or VPN.
- Not sure if you're logged in? See How to tell if you're logged in to JSTOR for more information.
- Next, create a personal account or sign in to your existing personal account.
Your personal account is now paired with your institution. The next time you want to sign in through your school, you can sign in to your personal account to get access to your school's subscription.
Remote access to JSTOR through personal account pairing lasts 365 days.
Personal account pairing to your institution will be automatically renewed when logging into JSTOR while on campus, or using one of your institution's registered remote access methods.
Read free articles online
Don't have access to JSTOR through an institution? You still can access a large portion of the JSTOR Archive with a free personal account.
To start read articles online for free:
- Create a personal account or sign in to your existing personal account.
- Search for articles on JSTOR, and choose Read Online.
- Only eligible articles will include this option.
