When viewing images on JSTOR you can use Compare mode to compare up to four images together in a single full-screen view. You can also view images with and without the image details.
Note that whether you select to show or hide image details, your selected preference will persist for any images you view afterward.
Instructions
- There are two ways to use Compare mode:
- From any image published to JSTOR, select "Compare" in the image viewer.
- You can also compare images while presenting images in your Workspace by selecting "Compare" in Present mode. See Workspace: Presenting Research for more information.
- From any image published to JSTOR, select "Compare" in the image viewer.
- Once you're in Compare mode, a menu will open where you can choose images to compare from one of three sources:
- Images from your Workspace
You can compare your image with other images saved in your Workspace. See Workspace: Introduction to Workspace for more information. - Images from Search Results
You can also search for images to compare by selecting "Search Results" and entering your search term(s). - Suggested images
If you don't have any images saved to your workspace, you'll see suggested images to compare.
- Images from your Workspace
- Select the checkboxes next to the available images in the Compare menu to choose up to three images to compare with your original image.
- Once you've chosen your desired images, select "Compare" to enter Compare mode.
- To remove any individual image from the screen, select the "X" ("Close this item") next to the image.
- To leave Compare mode, select "Exit full screen".
