Which browsers are compatible with JSTOR?
JSTOR is compatible with the following browsers:
For the best possible experience using JSTOR, you'll want to make sure your browser is updated to the most recent version. If you encounter a problem with JSTOR and you're using a browser not included here, we'll ask you to test the site again in one of the supported browsers listed above.
We may also ask you to update your browser to the most recent version. Browsers generally update automatically when connected to the internet, but you can also update manually. Check the website for your browser (linked above) for further instructions on how to update.
If you're not sure which browser and/or version you're using, you can visit WhatsMyBrowser.org for help.
Operating system (OS) and browser versions
If you're using an out-of-date operating system (OS) you may be prevented from updating to a more recent browser version. If you're experiencing this, you can try a different supported browser or update your operating system prior to updating your browser.
For example, if you're unable to update Safari to the most recent version because you're on an earlier version of macOS, you can:
- Try another supported browser like Google Chrome
- Or upgrade macOS and then upgrade Safari
We support the current version of a device’s native browser. This includes:
- Safari + iOS
- Chrome + Android
Current versions of the following browsers including examples are compatible with the screen readers listed below:
- Safari + VoiceOver
- Most current browsers + VoiceOver
- Edge + Narrator
- Most current browsers + NVDA
- Most current browsers + JAWS OR Narrator
