When you need to permanently link to an item on JSTOR, look for its stable URL and/or remote access URL on the item page.
- Stable URLs (or permanent links) are the best choice for citations or sharing with a broad audience.
- Remote access URLs appear when you're logged in through your institution remotely. They're a good choice to bookmark or for sharing with other members of your institution. If you're not seeing your institution's remote access URL, see How to tell if you are logged in to JSTOR.
Where to find a stable or remote access URL
You can find both the stable and remote access URL (if available) for an item on the item page with its metadata.
For journal articles, the stable URL will be listed after the item title and the remote access URL will be located within the Item details or Abstract and details section.
For images items, both the stable and remote access URLs can be found with the item's metadata.
