About individual journal subscriptions:
Some publishers and societies offer digital access through JSTOR to individuals that subscribe to their journals. Access methods for these individual journal subscriptions varies by publisher and society.
If you are not sure how to access your digital journal subscription through JSTOR, please contact your publisher or society, or reach out to us for more information.
Common ways to access your subscription:
Access through a personal JSTOR account:
If you receive an email invitation from JSTOR, you will need to follow the activation instructions in the email to activate your subscription. After activation, make sure to login with your JSTOR account any time you wish to access your journal.
Please see our support documentation on how to find specific journals on JSTOR for instructions on how to find the journal you subscribe to.
Access through a publisher or society page:
Some publishers and societies create and maintain individual accounts for their members. You may need to login on your society or publisher website for access to your digital journal subscription.
This process will vary depending on the publisher or society you get access through. We recommend that you reach out to your publisher or society for more information on how to get access to your digital journal subscription.

Did not find clear instructions on how to subscribe to a specific journal inorder to publish an article in it.
Hi Naimah! You can learn more about submitting to a publisher here: https://support.jstor.org/hc/en-us/articles/115005054768-Submitting-Content-to-JSTOR, but the easiest answer is that it's best to contact the publisher directly.
If you want to subscribe to a journal so that you can learn more about the kinds of content they publish, you can find any journals that JSTOR archives here on this list, click on the journal title, then you will see a "subscribe" link if it's possible to subscribe to that journal. (If you don't see the "subscribe" link, then it's not possible to purchase access to that journal via JSTOR as an independent researcher). See screenshot below, and don't hesitate to contact us at support@jstor.org if you have any more questions!
